Yes, let's please improve broadband and its infrastructure in the United States. It is sad to note that the United States is ranked 12th or 13th--depending on the survey relied on--relative to other countries providing broadband, in terms of quality of service.
I favor increasing the use of fiber optics, replacing old and problematic technology and extending broadband coverage to rural areas.
As well, Congress should enact Net Neutrality to ensure that broadband follows the traditions of common carriage and non-discriminatory treatment of all users of the internet.
As more and more persons use and rely on the internet to communicate, to attend university online, to share vital data and the like, universal and reliable broadband is no longer a luxury; it's become a necessity.
