It all started in March 1944, when the over-confident Axis powers could do nothing, but watch those American Red Tails showering death upon them with accuracy that Pentagon was not very familiar with till then. Right from ‘Operation Torch’ launched by the allies to the relentless bombing missions five months later in the same year, Tuskegee 332nd Fighter Afro-American pilots had painted the skies and tails of their P-47 Thunderbolt fighter jets, red with Axis blood. George Lucas has been producing and directing a movie on the role that these inexperienced black-American pilots played in winning the war for the Allies for the last twenty years, and is finally ready for a January 20, 2012 release.
